The centre piece of the Malvern Theatres scheme was the local forest of dean pennant stone steps and courtyard area below the mezzanine studios of the extended theatres. Cavish undertook the detailing, procurement, and installation of this element, working closely in collaboration with the architect. Forest of Dean pennant stone was laid to a complex reinforced concrete structure. The incredibly tight confines of this sight meant the site team and Cavish management working together with Speller Metcalfe’s site team to carefully coordinate the works areas. Further to this work the following was completed:

• Construction of foundation pads for mezzanine, working around unknown services.
• Drainage for the new courtyard and connection to existing, following investigative works.
• Coordination and installation of floor light sockets.
• Tie in of public footpath to new works.
• Fitment of stainless-steel tactile studs and anti-skate studs.

It was a pleasure to install local products on a scheme so close to Cavish head office!
